Our Mission

Visual Engineering harnesses cutting-edge flow-through heater technology, allowing you to brew a single cup with just the flip of a lever . The machines employ our proprietary “pipp” (percolative immersion positive pressure) brewing technique, delivering exceptional cups of filter coffee, espresso, and tea.

Proof of Concept Prototype

The journey begins. The idea to create a consistent batch brewer with results challenging traditional pour overs. This Version successfully showed us that our ideas were valid and that we could create a new style of batch brew and concentrated coffees.

Engineering Validation Testing

For the next version we decided to tackle the pour over directly. Our original cafe is in a rural area with heavy seasonal traffic. Training and even finding staff can be challenging so we wanted to create a way to offer high end single cup coffees without long waits and extensive training. On this machine is where we realized we could do more that just "pour over" we could actually do espresso.

Design Validation Testing

Here we began testing the full system with electronics and programming. Everything functioned and results were exceeding expectations. Now time to reveal what we have been working on.

World of Coffee

April 2026 we showed the working prototypes to the world for the first time. Nobody at the expo knew anything about us leading up to it and the reception was amazing. Machines showed what they can do and the market is ready for something new.

The Story Behind Visual Engineering

Visual Engineering has always been deeply connected to the world of specialty coffee. Over the past 18 years, the founders have successfully opened and managed multiple cafés, roasteries, and e-commerce coffee ventures.

The inspiration for these innovative machines emerged when Cody noticed opportunities for improvement in batch brewing. He began experimenting with various concepts to enhance reliability and consistency. Then, shortly after launching a new café, their expensive espresso machine malfunctioned just two weeks into operation. Faced with the urgency to keep the café running, Cody and his team drove the broken machine eight hours to a technician, only to find that repairs would take nine months! In the meantime, they purchased a new, costly machine that was not only heavy but also required freight shipping, which took three weeks and nearly $1,000 in shipping fees.

This challenging experience significantly influenced Cody's design philosophy. He envisioned machines that could prevent such catastrophic events. All of our machines are designed with the fewest moving parts possible, utilizing cutting-edge heater technology that eliminates the need for a bulky boiler. As a result, our machines are compact and lightweight, allowing for next-day shipping if necessary to ensure your establishment runs smoothly.

We are not a Silicon Valley tech startup, we are fellow coffee professionals cutting our teeth in Missouri, Texas and Wyoming. We have faced and overcome the challenges that equipment can present, and we are committed to alleviating those burdens while offering a fresh approach to your coffee experience.
